BBA

The mission of FOM's BBA program is to develop socially responsive, creative, and result oriented management professionals to full up the middle level managerial positions in the rapidly growing business sector in Nepal and abroad.

The specific objectives of the BBA Program are to:

  • Prepare students to take-up middle level managerial positions in the business sector.
  • Develop students skill in object-oriented business management capable of understanding and solving practical business problems creatively.
  • Provide professional management education with a blend of computer and management information system courses.
  • Prepare students to proceed onto postgraduate level study in business administration.

 

CURRICULAR STRUCTURE

The BBA program comprises of the following four components.

  1. Management and Allied courses 72 credit hours.
  2. Computer Related Courses 18 credit hours.
  3. Specialization Area Courses 24 credit hours.

Total : 120 credit hours

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Written Test

Application are required to appear in the entrance test conducted by the Faculty of Management. Students must secure a minimum of 40% in the entrance test in order to qualify for the interview. The test will follow the standard testing patterns and may include areas like verbal ability, quantitative ability, logical reasoning and general awareness.

Interview:

Only short-listed candidates form the written test will be interviewed and selected for admission.

PASSING GRADE AND GRADING SYSTEM

Students must secure a minimum of grade 'C' or Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 in the internal evaluation in order to qualify to appear in the semester examination. In order to pass the semester examination the students must secure a minimum of grade 'C' or the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 Students who secure a semester grade of 'D' will not be promoted to the next semester. The grading system shall be as follows:

TEACHING PEDAGOGY

A combination of lectures, group discussions, problem solving exercises, guest lectures, field work, case studies, industrial practice and study tours will be used to import/deliver the course contents to the students.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

Evaluation of the students shall be conducted on the basis of internal and external evaluation. It evolves continuous monitoring of student's progress in classroom performance, periodic assignment, group discussions, paper presentation, etc. The 60% Semester Examination for the theoretical learning will be conducted by the university through written examination at the end of the each semester.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

The candidate applying for BBA program must have:

  1. Successfully completed a twelve-year schooling or its equivalent from any university, board of institution recognized by Tribhuvan University.
  2. Secured at least second division in the 10+2, PCL or equivalent program.
  3. Complied with all the application procedures.

 

MAKE-UP EXAMINATION & RE-REGISTRATION
In case of failure in one or more courses at the end of semester examinations students can appear in make-up examination in the subsequent semester. A student can appear only on two courses (6 credit hours) in the make-up examination. If the student fail in the make-up examination, he/she shall have to re-register and repeat the course as per the course cycle. A student can re-register only for two course (6 credit hours) in a semester. The examination of the re-registered course shall be held as per the course cycle.


ATTENDANCE
Students are required to attend regularly, all lectures, practical classes, seminars and presentations as required by the courses. A candidate for the examination must have attended a minimum of 80% of such activities in order to be eligible to appear in the semester examination.

CREDIT TRANSFER AND WITH DRAWL

The program allows students to transfer the credits earned by them in similar program of other universities recognized by Tribhuvan University. The maximum credit transfer allowed to a student shall be 30 credit hours. The FOM shall have the final authority to decide on the credit transfer.

A students who has partially completed the BBA program and would like to discontinue his/her students shall also be allowed to withdraw form the program. In such cases, a certificate specifying the credit earned by the student in the program shall be provided.


ADVISORY BOARD

The College functions with professional guidance and support of Everest Advisory Council. The advisory board consists of members from the affiliated University, academician and distinguished popular personalities.

Computer Laboratory : Computers are installed to facilitate all the students to undergo their study as per the curriculum.

 

Library: Well stocked library with course books, references, national and international magazines and journals to meet the full requirements of the students and scholars looking forward to enriching their learning in Business Administration.

Cafeteria: With facilities for meals and light refreshment to the students and staff at reasonable costs.
